A recent survey reveals that online shoppers place great importance on environmentally friendly and fast deliveries.

The survey of 400 U.S. adults by online eyewear retailer SmartBuyGlasses reveals that 67% of respondents shop online at least once a month, and 50% shop online once a week or more. It also provides insight into consumer sentiment in areas such as online delivery and artificial intelligence.

What are the online delivery trends?

Nearly 70% of respondents value home delivery, with Gen Zers most likely to pay for it. Nearly three in four (73%) are willing to pay a premium for eco-friendly delivery, which includes:

    • 36% would pay less than $5
    • 23.75% is open to paying between $5 and $10
    • 9% would pay between $10 and $15
    • 5% are willing to pay more than $15

When it comes to paying for faster delivery, more than 80% of respondents are willing to pay for this convenience:

    • 32.5% are willing to pay less than $5
    • 31.75% would pay between $5 and $10
    • 12.25% is open to paying between $10 and $15
    • 6.25% would pay more than $15

    The use of AI

Regarding the use of AI during online shopping, nearly half of respondents (48.75%) express extreme discomfort with AI, with Gen X respondents being the most likely to feel uncomfortable. Another 30% are neutral about AI, while 21.25% are very or extremely comfortable.

    Other discoveries

    • 54% of respondents indicate that instant payment is a top priority
    • 44% of respondents say augmented reality testing is a must when shopping online
    • Younger consumers between 20- and 34-years old shop online less frequently than older age groups

Such a survey of 400 American adults aged 20-60 was conducted on Pollfish by SmartBuyGlasses on November 15, 2024.

SmartBuyGlasses and smart glasses in industries

SmartBuyGlasses is a company selling sunglasses, frames, contact lenses and reading glasses online

In industries, the presence of errors during the production of objects or the lack of immediate communication with other work areas is common; smartglasses are tools that help tasks to be carried out efficiently and safely thanks to their interconnectivity, machine learning and real-time data collection.

Smart glasses are industrial wearables which make it possible for processes to be carried out accurately, and in this way, there is greater profitability for companies; in addition, smartglasses greatly reduce the appearance of irregularities that usually occur due to labor.

Smart glasses are devices that are hyperconnected and interconnected with other systems and equipment, whether PLCs, smart watches, etc.; this type of wearables are the result of the digital transformation of industry 4.0, developed to record, host and manage the data traffic produced by a company.

Just like watches, smart TVs, appliances and many other objects connected to the Internet of Things, smartglasses have cybersecurity filters, which means that their system has the ability to report any infiltration or error that occurs to the Database.

Smart glasses technology does not deprive the user of the real field of vision; on the contrary, the digital information is fully legible for the user and, depending on the field of work in which they are used, the information can be received through text messages or alarms.
