Food Lion, which continues to lead brand performance in the U.S. as an Ahold Delhaize banner, held a June 15 ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newly-renovated Goose Creek, S.C., store at 142 St. James Ave.
The remodeled store features an expanded hot food bar that offers a wide selection of Asian menu items and an assortment of wings. The Salisbury, N.C.-based banner said renovations also included a new front end for quick and easy check-out experience, and the store now offers Food Lion To Go grocery pickup.
Store manager Tyrell McPherson welcomed the opportunity to reintroduce the fully remodeled store to the Goose Creek community. “I grew up about 20 miles from here, so I feel at home when I’m serving our customers, local food banks, schools and others in our area,” McPherson said in a statement. “Many members of my dedicated team are from here too. Our neighbors deserve this new and improved shopping experience and we’re excited to bring it to them.”
To celebrate the renovations, the first 100 Food Lion shoppers received a mystery gift card, reusable bag and custom apron.
Food Lion also said it donated $500 in gift cards to both Gateway Open Arms and Helping Hands of Goose Creek through Food Lion Feeds, the retailer’s hunger relief initiative.
