An economic impact of over 400 million pesos is the result of the holiday period that took place last July, with the arrival of tourists to Ciudad Madero, during which it was estimated that more than 480 thousand people visited the main tourist attractions of the oil city.
Playa Miramar continues to be the preferred vacation destination for thousands of families, as was confirmed during the first half of the 2024 summer vacation period.
Around 481,779 people visited Ciudad Madero in July 2024
The head of the Tourism Department of Ciudad Madero, Lorena Yolanda González López, reported that from July 6 to 30, 481,779 people visited the city, coming from different states of the Mexican Republic.
He detailed that during the month of July, 472,625 visitors entered Miramar Beach, the main tourist destination in southern Tamaulipas, as well as 101,247 vehicles with license plates from different states such as: San Luis Potosí, Nuevo León, Hidalgo, CDMX, and the arrival of 474 tourist buses.
The official mentioned that in addition to Miramar Beach, tourists also went to the Parque Bicentenario, where there was an influx of 9,154 visitors and the arrival of 3,709 vehicles.
González López said that 481,779 people visited both tourist spots, who enjoyed a stay on the beach or a relaxing walk in the park.
The Parque Bicentenario is located in Ciudad Madero, very close to the beach, and is a tourist and ecological complex that is made up of seven hectares.
The park has open spaces surrounded by a 3 km cycle path that connects all areas of the park.
It has water rides, ecological tours, as well as a recreational area with mechanical games.
