CHEF’STORE, the warehouse retail concept from US Foods that is open to restaurant professionals as well as the general public, announced plans for a bicoastal expansion, with new stores in California North Carolina and Montana. The new stores will add to CHEF’STORE’s more than 80 locations nationwide across 13 states.

Rosemont, Illinois-based US Foods said on Tuesday that the new locations in Merced and Santa Cruz, California; Helena, Montana, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, further CHEF’STORE’s commitment to being a one-stop wholesale shop for restaurant operators, food industry professionals, community groups and at-home chefs with no membership fee required.

The Merced and Santa Cruz stores will join CHEF’STORE’s existing California portfolio of 15 stores across the state. The 19,000-square-foot Merced store will be located at 3275 R St., and Santa Cruz store, which will clock in at more than 23,000 square feet, will be located at 1660 Commercial Way. Both stores are scheduled for a fall 2022 opening, the foodservice distributor said.

The 20,000-square-foot Helena store at 2885 N Sanders St. will join existing Montana locations in Kalispell and Missoula and is slated to open in early 2023, US Foods said.

In North Carolina, the Winston-Salem CHEF’STORE—the state’s second—is set to open in December at 140 Stratford Commons Court.

“The new CHEF’STORES will offer foodservice operators across Northern California, Montana and North Carolina a new and convenient retail location for purchasing their much-needed food and supplies,” said John Mathews, VP of sales and marketing for CHEF’STORE, in a statement. “Merced, Santa Cruz, Helena and Winston-Salem have a growing community of restaurant owners and culinary professionals. CHEF’STORE is excited to help serve their needs with thousands of restaurant-quality products at competitive prices.”

US Foods announced earlier this year that it will open a new CHEF’STORE this fall in the “Hub City”—the Upstate South Carolina region that includes three major cities: Greenville, Anderson and Spartanburg.
