The Hispanic Retail Chamber of Commerce Appoints Guillermo Washington as Retail Vice President
The Hispanic Retail Chamber of Commerce (HRCOC) is proud to announce the appointment of Guillermo Washington as its new Retail Vice President. With a distinguished career spanning top retail organizations across the United States and Mexico, Guillermo brings unmatched expertise in Hispanic retail strategy, operations, and expansion.
His extensive background includes leadership roles at some of the most prominent Hispanic supermarket chains in the U.S., including Mi Pueblo in California, El Rancho Supermercado in Texas, Talpa Supermercados in Georgia, and currently, El Rio Grande in Texas. His deep understanding of multicultural markets and consumer needs makes him a strategic asset for the Chamber and its members.
Notably, during his tenure at Walmart México, Guillermo served as the national lead for the Bodega Aurrera Express banner. Starting with just three stores, he successfully grew the format to over 400 stores across the country, demonstrating exceptional vision and execution capabilities in small-format retail.
In addition to his corporate experience, Guillermo is a respected retail consultant and mentor, advising independent operators and emerging chains on operational efficiency, branding, and strategic growth. He will also play a leading role in the organization and execution of the Grand Retail Show 2026, the Chamber’s flagship event that connects suppliers, retailers, and thought leaders in the Hispanic retail sector.
Guillermo Washington’s appointment reflects HRCOC’s commitment to empowering Hispanic retailers and elevating the influence of multicultural commerce in the national retail landscape.
